South West Port Limited (SWPL) is a subsidiary of JSW Infrastructure Limited, one of the leading private sector infrastructure companies in India. SWPL located close to Vasco Da Gama, Goa, began its operations in 2004 as a commercial terminal. SWPL operates two berths 5A and 6A at Mormugao Port Trust on a build, own, operate, transfer (BOOT) basis. The terminal has a current capacity of 7.50 MMTPA and can handle various cargos like steam & coking coal, limestone and steel. It has a draft of 15 meters and is capable of handling 150,000 DWT vessels.
SWPL has one of the most efficient evacuation systems amongst the bulk terminals in India where it can turnaround 4-5 times of its storage capacity (0.18 MMTPA) in a month. SWPL with its fully mechanized systems handles around 9-10 rakes per day. The terminal has in fact, handled over 95 MMTPA of cargo and 30,000 import and export rakes since its inception!

The facility is equipped to deal with diverse operating conditions in India. Its state of the art dust suppression systems, closed transport wagons and sprinkler systems, ensure ambient conditions optimum for storing and transporting cargo.
