A concession agreement was signed on 7th March 2015 between Shri M.T. Krishna Babu (Chairman of the period), Paradip Port Trust on behalf of Paradip Port and Shri Dhruv Kotatk (Joint Managing Director), JM Baxi Group on behalf of Paradip International Cargo Terminal Private Limited (PICT) in the presence of the senior officers of Paradip Port Trust and officers of the JM Baxi Group.

The concession period stands for 30 years on BoT basis. PICT is responsible for financing, designing, construction, commissioning, of the project along with operation, management and maintenance under the concession agreement.

PICT is a Multipurpose Clean Cargo Terminal, and thus is offering a complete logistic solution to the clients for Odisha and hinterland.

PICT is equipped with the state – of – art technology and a conducive business environment, it is poised to become the efficient port in the East Coast of India. Two separate rail sidings are available for the berth at PICT where rail loading / unloading of containers and other clean cargo are taking place. This is attracting the rail-borne cargo and enabling it to render value added services like bagging of fertilizers.

PICT Commenced its first Terminal operation on 25th May 2018 and the first vessel MV DMC JUPITER (Cargo – Steel Plates & Steel Rounds) was berthed on 30th May 2018. PICT has so far handled 183 vessels and 810 No’s of rakes.

The total Cargo quantity handled till 12th December 2019 is as follows:

  • Total vessel handled Cargo quantity Bulk / Break Bulk: 30,26,412.026
  • Container: 16,202 TEUs (Coastal)

Infrastructure:

PICT has successfully implemented the Terminal Operating System (TOS) to control the movement and storage of Bulk, Break Bulk and Container Cargo, which optimised the operations of cargo and also fetch both Operational and Commercial data in a single platform.

Container scanner is also in place and about to function.
