EBTPL is a common user multi cargo terminal facility located at Kamarajar Port Limited, Ennore, Tamil Nadu, India. This terminal caters multi cargo requirements to its various customers via road and rail to respective destinations of the Customers. The Customer appoints a CHA and Shipping Agent to process customs / duty clearances for handling the cargo from international load ports to our terminal and vice versa.

EBTPL, being a custodian of the cargo is responsible for verifying the documents like IGM, Bill of Entry, over side Delivery Order that are given by the customer or customers appointed agent. Once the verification is done and the port dues are cleared by the customer, berthing clearance is forwarded to the marine department of Kamarajar port by our Business Development team. Vessel loading / unloading plan is evolved by the Operations and Maintenance Team in the terminal along with the stevedore’s contractor and port captain for vessel operations. Once the vessel is safely berthed, all statutory inspection is done from PHO, Customs and draft survey is conducted by the surveyor.

IMPORT CARGO:
For import cargo (Bulk commodities like Gypsum, Barite, etc.,), the vessel cargo is unloaded using shore harbor mobile cranes and then stacked at designated stack yard using appropriate heavy equipment. Thereafter, delivery is given to the customer based on his delivery order either by road or rail.

The customer issues a delivery order stating mode of transport, destination and their authorized transporter for evacuating the cargo. The cargo is loaded via trucks with Heavy Equipment (Pay loaders). For evacuating the cargo by railway, indent is placed with the Railways and the cargo is loaded onto the wagons with the help of Mechanized loading equipment. The cargo that is being evacuated is weighed before dispatch using static weighbridge (For road) and In Motion Weighbridge (For Rail).

EXPORT CARGO :

The cargo is received inside the terminal either by road or rail and stacked in yard/ ware houses according to the type of commodity. If the commodity is to be preserved (Example: Steel Coils, Laminated Ply woods, Bagged cargo, Pulses, grains etc.,), then the same is stored in ware houses safely. If the cargo is in bulk nature (Example: Barites, Gypsum, Lime Stone in lumps or small boulders), the cargo is stored and stacked in open yard for further shipment.

In case of steel products, packing list (order wise) are sent in prior to their arrival via rakes for enabling the terminal team to unload the cargo and stack them accordingly in the ware house.
Once the vessel is safely berthed, then the cargo is gradually intercarted from the stored yard to the wharf using trailer or trucks to load the cargo onto the vessel.
