Incorporated in 1997, South West Port Limited marks a major milestone in the history of JSW Infrastructure as it is the company’s first port operation in the year 2004. A mechanized terminal facility in Goa on the west coast of India, it was established primarily to handle the logistic needs of the JSW Steel plant at Toranagallu, Karnataka. With the expansion of the steel plant, cargo movements increased tremendously. And so, setting up its own terminal became a strategic cost-cutting and efficiency measure for the JSW Group.

Because of its convenient location, South West Port Limited proves to be a cost effective port for the efficient handling of coal and limestone imports and finished steel exports. It currently operates two dedicated bulk cargo berths at Mormugoa Port Trust at Goa, on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) licence agreement.

The fully mechanised bulk material handling system for its import cargoes, has state of the art environment friendly equipment, with an in-motion wagon loading system with a pipe conveyor feeding the silo(the only  kind in Goa). The terminal is ISO 9001:2015(QMS), ISO 14001:2015(EMS) and ISO 45001:2018 (OSHAS) certified.

The terminal exports HRC & CRC steel coils as well as steel slabs, sheets, Wire Rod Coils and other long products, having 3 covered sheds to house CRC steel coils.

The terminal capacity is 15 million metric tons.
